Why Hindi keyword research is hard

Most keyword research tools are built for English-speaking markets. Their Hindi support is either non-existent (Ahrefs, SEMrush don't expose real Hindi autocomplete) or buried behind enterprise pricing. Google Keyword Planner shows volume but no real-time autocomplete. Ubersuggest gives a handful of suggestions but cuts you off after three free searches.

Meanwhile, Hindi search volume on Google.co.in has more than tripled since 2020, driven by next-billion users coming online through cheap data plans. The opportunity for Indian businesses to rank for Hindi long-tail queries is enormous — if you can find the keywords.

How this tool works

We combine three free, real-time data sources:

  • Google Suggest API— we query Google's autocomplete endpoint with hl=hi&gl=in parameters, so you get the exact queries Google is showing Indian Hindi-language users right now. These are the highest-intent suggestions because they reflect real user behavior.
  • Hindi Wikipedia opensearch — we pull related article titles from Hindi Wikipedia, which surfaces entity-type keywords (people, places, concepts, products) that autocomplete often misses. Wikipedia is also the source AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity cite most for Hindi factual queries — so ranking for Wikipedia-aligned entity terms helps AEO.
  • Synthetic pattern expansion — we generate question-prefixed variants using the six most common Hindi question words (कैसे, क्या, कहां, कब, क्यों, कौन) and long-tail variants using common SEO modifiers in Hindi (मुफ्त, बेस्ट, ऑनलाइन, कीमत, के फायदे, के नुकसान).

What we don't show — and why

You won't see search volume or keyword difficulty numbers here. Those require paid APIs like DataForSEO or SerpAPI, which cost ₹0.10-1.00 per query and would force us to charge for the tool. Instead, we tell you honestly that we can't verify those numbers and point you to Google Keyword Planner for monthly volume (free with any Ads account). That's the same Anthropic-quality transparency principle we apply across SEOSpectator — read our scoring methodology and what we don't check yet for more.

Workflow we recommend

  1. Run a seed term here, export the CSV (100 keywords)
  2. Paste those keywords into Google Keyword Planner for monthly volume data
  3. Filter to keywords with >100 searches/month and difficulty you can compete on
  4. Run a free SEOSpectator auditon your current page that targets any of those keywords — we'll show you exactly what to fix to rank
